Nickel/photo-cocatalyzed three-component silylarylation of electron-deficient alkenes

Abstract

Herein we report a nickel/photo-cocatalyzed silylarylation of electron-deficient alkenes with aryl bromides and hydrosilanes, providing new access to a variety of β-silyl-α-aryl propionates with good functionality tolerance. Tetrabutylammonium decatungstate-mediated chemoselective radical Si–H activation via hydrogen atom transfer, sila-Giese addition, and nickel-mediated C–C bond formation constitute the key elementary steps of this process.
