Progress in organic material based solid-state X-ray scintillators
Abstract
Organic solid-state scintillating materials have attracted wide attention due to their irreplaceable advantages such as low cost, easy production, flexibility, and adjustable luminescence performance. Recently, various organic material based solid-state X-ray scintillators have emerged. This has greatly facilitated the practical application of X-ray scintillators in radiation detection, medical imaging, and security identification. This paper reviews the latest progress in solid-state organic scintillating materials in crystals and thin film forms, and in composite scintillators bearing organic components. With an emphasis on their molecular structure and properties, this work aims to provide the latest progress in organic scintillating solids, including their development and applications, as well as the associated challenges and problems.
