Some new weberites
Abstract
Structural characteristics of a new type of weberite with the general formula (A+A3+)B5+2O2–7 with A+= Na+ or K+, A3+= a rare-earth metal cation or Y3+, and B5+= V5+ or Ta5+ are reported. The orthorhombic distortion in these compounds and the tolerance factors (t1,t2) indicative of the stability of the structures are correlated.
