Copper anti-inflammatory drugs in rheumatoid arthritis. Part 2. A potentiometric and spectroscopic study of copper(II) polyaminodicarboxylate complexes
Abstract
Copper(II) complexes of 3,6,9,12-tetra-azatetradecanedioic acid and 3,6,9-triazaundecanedioic acid have been studied at 25 °C and an ionic strength of 0.15 mol dm–3, using glass electrode potentiometry. A novel formation function has been used as an aid to interpretation of the data. N.m.r. and electronic spectrometry have been used to rationalize the data in terms of solution structures. Computer simulation has been used to predict the copper plasma mobilizing ability of the ligands.
