Synthesis of some stable ozonides with anti-malarial activity

Abstract

We describe the synthesis of variously substituted 8,9,10,11-tetraoxatricyclo[5.2.1.12,6]undecan-4-ones. Several of these stable ozonides exhibited activity (IC50′s of 10–20 µg cm–3) against a chloroquine-resistant strain of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum.
