Syntheses and structures of quinuclidine-stabilized four- and five-coordinate mono- and di-chlorogallane

Abstract

Hydride/chloride redistribution reactions provided high yields of GaCl2H(quin) I, GaCl2H(quin)2 II, GaClH2(quin) III and GaClH2(quin)2 IV(quin = quinuclidine) and structural characterization of compounds II and IV authenticate the unusual five-coordinate geometry for gallium hydride complexes.
