Abstract

The reaction of triphenylbismuth and tert-butylphosphonic acid gives the bismuth phosphonate phase (Bu^tPO₃H)₃Bi and the first bismuth phosphonate cluster [(Bu^tPO₃)₁₀(Bu^tPO₃H)₂Bi₁₄O₁₀·3C₆H₆·4H₂O].
