Manipulating ZnO nanowires for field-effect device integration by optical-fiber grip coated with thermoplastic copolymer†
Abstract
We report a novel method to precisely manipulate nanowires in air, using a tapered optical fiber tip and thermoplastic ethylene–vinyl acetate copolymer. For an application of such nanowire manipulation, we attempted to fabricate logic circuits with two ZnO nanowires aligned in series and parallel, choosing ∼50 μm-long ZnO nanowires for field-effect transistors and load resistors.
