Periodic auto-active gels with topologically “polyrotaxane-interlocked” structures

Abstract

“Polyrotaxane-interlocked” gels which exhibit periodic swelling/deswelling oscillations without “on/off” switching of external stimuli are presented. The mechanical oscillation is driven by the redox oscillation in the BZ reaction and enhanced by the unique topological structure.
