Facile synthesis of polymerized cobalt phthalocyanines for highly efficient CO2 reduction†
Abstract
Polymerized cobalt phthalocyanines supported on carbon nanotubes were synthesized via a one-pot polycondensation reaction using water as a green solvent. This environmentally friendly strategy allows facile tuning of the morphology and chemical structure of the catalysts by changing the loading, substrate and monomers. The optimized catalyst produces CO with near perfect faradaic efficiencies (>90%) and outstanding specific activities (124 mA mg−1) at a low overpotential of 490 mV.
