Highly durable spirobifluorene-based aromatic anion conducting polymer for a solid ionomer of alkaline fuel cells and water electrolysis cells†
Abstract
New aryl ether-free spirobifluorene-based anion-exchange membranes were synthesized. The obtained membranes showed high alkaline and oxidative stability. In addition, the membranes were highly soluble in various organic solvents owing to the spirocyclic structure and showed high swelling resistance. These materials are promising for solid ionomer materials that can be used in alkaline fuel cells or alkaline water electrolysis devices.
