Oxidation states of gallium (infrequent i and common iii) tunable via medium-sized C60 and small-sized C28 fullerenes †
Abstract
C60 was profoundly revealed as being an excellent container for stabilizing unusual Ga(I). Differently sized fullerenes performed as flexible tools for tuning the oxidation states of gallium. A fluoridation strategy was proposed for the further stabilization of Ga@Ih(1812)-C60. This will facilitate exploiting more features and applications involving rarely used Ga(I ).
