Visible light-driven metal-free synthesis of highly substituted pyrroles through C–H functionalisation†
Abstract
A visible light-driven metal-free route to access unprecedented highly substituted pyrroles is reported. Benzophenone is employed as an accessible photocatalyst under solvent-free conditions to deliver targeted products in high yields. A photoinduced C–H functionalisation renders structural variety and complexity to the final products showcasing the potential of the transformation.
