Electrochemical and mechanochemical synthesis of dihydrofuro[3,2-c]chromenones via intramolecular Csp3–H cross-dehydrogenative oxygenation within warfarin frameworks: an efficient and straightforward dual approach†‡
Abstract
As a dual approach, we herein disclose electrochemical and mechanochemical methods for the efficient and straightforward synthesis of a new series of functionalized dihydrofuro[3,2-c]chromenones using warfarin analogues. Both processes involve intramolecular direct Csp3–H cross-dehydrogenative oxygenation within the warfarin framework. The notable features of these newly developed protocols include avoiding the use of transition metal catalysts, short reaction times, good to excellent yields, scalability, and eco-friendliness.
