One-pot synthesis of polysulfonate by a cascading sulfur(vi) fluorine exchange (SuFEx) reaction and cyanosilylation of aldehyde†
Abstract
As a kind of excellent engineering polymer material, polysulfonate has attracted intense attention in recent years. In this work, four new polysulfonates with cyano substitution in the branched chain were one-pot synthesized through the SuFEx reaction of the sulfonyl fluoride monomer (MF) with four silyl ether monomers (MSi1–4) based on the cyanosilylation reaction of aldehydes. The novel synthesized polysulfonate exhibited excellent thermal stability and high glass transition temperature. The cascade reaction in a “one-pot” environment makes the whole synthesis process very convenient, and provides a new pathway for the synthesis of polysulfonate.
