Modular synthesis of unsymmetric 2,4-diaryl-substituted pyridines through a four-component cyclization strategy under metal-free conditions†
Abstract
We have reported a multicomponent protocol for the synthesis of polysubstituted pyridines through a [2 + 2 + 1 + 1] condensation sequence under metal-free conditions. In this strategy, all of the starting materials are readily available and the reaction conditions are quite simple. This cyclization reaction shows good selectivity and produces various pyridines in good yields with a broad range of functional groups.
