Anion-regulated 2D amorphous binary nickel–iron nitrides for efficient water oxidation at high-current-densities

Abstract

Anion-regulated two-dimensional amorphous bi-metallic NiFe nitrides are fabricated by annealing controllable NiFe complexes in the rational deep eutectic solvents. Owing to its ultrathin nature, controllable electronic structure, and self-converted amorphous–crystalline reconstruction, the optimized 2D NiFe0.05–N–Cl0.5(NO3)0.5–CP shows an excellent OER activity with a small overpotential and long-term stability at 1.5 A cm−2.
