Iron-catalyzed carboamination of vinylarenes with alkanes and nitrogen nucleophiles

Abstract

Carboamination of alkenes is rapidly emerging as an essential strategy for synthesizing complex nitrogen-containing compounds. However, almost no carboamination of alkene procedures use amides or sulfonamides as nucleophiles, which have highly stable resonating structures and weak nucleophilicity. Herein, we investigated an Fe-catalyzed intermolecular carboamination of vinyl arenes with amides/sulfonamides/anilines and cycloalkanes. The presented work demonstrates 34 examples with good to excellent yields.
