Synthesis of an SBA-15 supported NiPtN catalyst for dehydrogenation of hydrazine hydrate
Abstract
In this study, a NiPtN/SBA-15 catalyst was successfully synthesized by a wet-impregnation method, which was validated using EDXRF, CHN analysis, XRD, SAA, and FESEM-EDS analysis. The effect of adding the nitrogen dopant from the precursor sodium nitrite (NaNO2) into the bimetallic NiPt catalyst supported by a mesoporous silica material, SBA-15, was evaluated and studied to determine the effect of the addition and the best catalyst variation on increasing the catalytic activity for dehydrogenation of hydrazine hydrate. The Ni75Pt25N0.4/SBA-15 catalyst showed good catalytic performance in dehydrogenation of hydrazine hydrate with a selectivity of 96.18% and TOF of 1133 h−1.
