Narrowing and blue-shifting photoluminescence of carbon dots by enhancing sp3-C hybridization using a microreactor

Abstract

Effectively narrowing and blue-shifting photoluminescence (PL) of carbon dots (CDs) through enhancing their sp3-C hybridization degree by using a microreactor are achieved. The resulting CDs emit ultraviolet (UV) PL centered at 345 nm with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 54 nm, with blue-shift of over 100 nm and FWHM narrowed by nearly half in comparison with that of the CDs prepared by using the traditional solvothermal method.
