Synergistic OH−/H+ modulation over amorphous Gd2O3–Pt interfaces for efficient alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction electrocatalysis†
Abstract
The integration of low-loading Pt sites with amorphous Gd2O3 on a carbon support in the as-prepared Pt–Gd2O3/C not only significantly modifies the electronic structure but also precisely modulates the binding strengths of various adsorbates (H*, OH*, and CO*). This synergistic effect leads to substantially enhanced hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) performance in alkaline media, as well as practical applications in anion exchange membrane fuel cells.
