Recent progress of metal–organic framework materials with a benzothiadiazole unit for fluorescence sensing
Abstract
Compared with traditional detection methods, visual fluorescence sensing has great convenience in the identification and detection of substances. In recent years, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) had great application prospects in fluorescence sensing due to their tunable structures, large surface areas and extremely high quantum yields. Among various luminescent MOF materials, MOFs with a benzothiadiazole unit have the advantages of stable and adjustable luminescence, which makes them shine in fluorescence sensing. In this highlight, we summarize the recent progress of MOF materials with a benzothiadiazole unit for fluorescence sensing and fully explain their sensing mechanism. Hopefully, this highlight will provide learning and guidance for beginners who are doing research in optical sensing.
