Visible-Light-Driven Oxidative Coupling of Arylhydrazines with Sulfinates Catalyzed by Polyoxometalates for Aryl Sulfone Synthesis

Abstract

This study reports a polyoxometalate-catalyzed visible-light-driven synthesis of aryl sulfones from arylhydrazines and sodium sulfinates using O2 as an oxidant. The method provides excellent stability, broad functional-group compatibility, and notably enhanced reactivity for electron-rich arylhydrazines, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional halogenated aromatic precursors.
