Intelligent ion-sieving bridge enabled by zinc-rich artificial SEI Layer with high Zn2+-conductivity for reversible zinc metal anode

Abstract

A zinc-rich artificial solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer with high Zn2+-conductivity composed of zinc titanate (ZTO), serving as an intelligent ion-sieving bridge, facilitates rapid migration of Zn2+ rather than anions to the Zn surface, realizing uniform Zn deposition and inhibition of side reactions. Consequently, the ZTO@Zn anodes exhibit long-time reversible Zn plating/stripping (4500 h) and high Coulombic efficiency (99.9%).
