Photoredox-Catalyzed Radical Fluorosulfonylation of Allyl Sulfones

Abstract

Despite the significant advances in developing various approaches to access sulfonyl fluorides, which complement the traditional chloride-fluoride exchange strategy using corresponding sulfonyl chlorides, there is still a lack of reported alternative methods for the construction of allyl sulfonyl fluorides. Herein we describe a straightforward and one-step strategy to synthesize allyl sulfonyl fluorides, which were conventionally synthesized in 3–4 steps. This visible-light-induced fluorosulfonylation approach features a wide substrate scope with good functional group tolerance.
