Photocatalytic reductive coupling of furfural into deoxyfuroin on mesoporous TiO2

Abstract

The two-step photocatalytic transformation of furfural into deoxyfuroin was achieved via the initial homocoupling of furfural into furoin over mesoporous TiO2, followed by photocatalytic transfer hydrogenolysis of C–OH of furoin over the Cu/TiO2 hybrid system.
