Advances in visualization and thermal management of electrochromic materials
Abstract
Electrochromism is a technology that affects the reflectivity and color types of materials by applying an external voltage change, which has been gradually applied in mobile phones, automobiles and buildings in recent years. However, traditional electrochromic materials and devices have some shortcomings, such as single color, low brightness and long response time, which hinder practical applications. In the field of visualization, although electrochromic materials have the characteristics of color change, their color types and contrast are difficult to meet the practical requirements. The structure of the optical resonator can adjust the propagation of light to achieve the purpose of improving its performance. In addition, in the field of thermal management, by using strategies such as the different emissivity of electrochromic materials before and after changing color, or the absorption of infrared light due to plasmon resonance, we can achieve control of the indoor environment while reducing energy consumption. In this review, in order to introduce the progress in the above aspects and better inspire thinking, we have introduced the application development, types and color-changing principles of electrochromic materials in detail, followed by some progress in visualization and thermal management of electrochromic materials.
