Electrochemical dealloying of a high-chromium alloy at oxygen evolution potential

Abstract

We first investigate the electrochemical dealloying effect and mechanism of a high-chromium alloy in alkaline NaNO3 solution at oxygen evolution potential. The electrochemical treatment can form dealloyed layers with Cr-enriched microstructures through periodic sequences of dissolution and redeposition of Fe and Cr compounds, and the layer thickness can be well adjusted.
