Liquid-phase synthesis of Li4GeS4 and Li10GeP2S12 electrolytes using water as the main solvent

Abstract

Liquid-phase synthesis using water as a solvent with low environmental impact was demonstrated to synthesize sulfide electrolytes. Li10GeP2S12 was successfully synthesized and exhibited an ionic conductivity of 7.7 × 10−3 S cm−1 at 25 °C. An all-solid-state battery was fabricated using the prepared electrolyte and its reversible operation was demonstrated.
