Fluorinated Organosilane Polycondensation Enables Robust Si Anode for Lithium Storage

Abstract

The chemistry of fluorinated organosilane polycondensation is utilized to form robust a Si anode with F-doped SiOx/C composite coating. The F-doping promotes the formation of not only coating rich in less electrochemically active Si4+ species but also LiF-rich solid-state electrolyte interphase, enabling Si anode with a long life of 500 cycles at large current densities for lithium storage.
