The “click” chemistry concept is based on utilizing rapid reactions, which are efficient, versatile, and selective. A facile synthesis of a novel triptycene-containing A–B monomer: precursor to polymers of intrinsic microporosity

A novel triptycene-containing A–B monomer bearing both phenazine activating aromatic o-dichloride and a catechol group was synthesized. This monomer is the first example of an A–B monomer used for the synthesis of a novel polymer of intrinsic microporosity (PIM). The synthesized polymer demonstrated good porosity, thermal stability and solubility in common organic solvents.

Borinane-based organoboron catalysts for alternating copolymerization of CO2 with cyclic ethers: improved productivity and facile recovery

Organoboron catalysts including an ammonium salt separated by a few carbon–carbon bonds to a boron center were designed and synthesized. Borinane-based organoboron catalysts exhibited highest activity for the copolymerization of CO2 and epoxides.

Conjugated microporous polymers using a copper-catalyzed [4 + 2] cyclobenzannulation reaction: promising materials for iodine and dye adsorption

A new design strategy is disclosed to synthesize conjugated microporous polymers using a Cu-catalyzed [4 + 2] cyclobenzannulation reaction. The polymers reveal BET surface areas up to 794 m2 g−1 and promising uptake of iodine and methylene blue.
