Core-dependent properties of copper nanoclusters: valence-pure nanoclusters as NIR TADF emitters and mixed-valence ones as semiconductors

Photon upconversion utilizing energy beyond the band gap of crystalline silicon with a hybrid TES-ADT/PbS quantum dots system

Photon upconversion with an excitation of energy below the band gap of crystalline silicon was demonstrated with a hybrid system consisting of molecules based on a thiophene conjugated acene (i.e., TES-ADT) and lead sulphide (PbS) quantum dots.

Photon-upconverting chiral liquid crystal: significantly amplified upconverted circularly polarized luminescence

Identifying key descriptors in surface binding: interplay of surface anchoring and intermolecular interactions for carboxylates on Au(110)

Trends in activity for the oxygen evolution reaction on transition metal (M = Fe, Co, Ni) phosphide pre-catalysts

A notable trend in OER activity on transition metal phosphide pre-catalysts is reported. Remarkably, the tri-metallic FeCoNiP pre-catalysts exhibit exceptional apparent and intrinsic OER activities, outperforming many non-precious OER catalysts reported previously.

About this collection

In 2019, Chemical Science welcomed Professor Toshiharu Teranishi to the journal as an Associate Editor, handling papers in the areas of nanomaterials and photocatalysis. Toshiharu has looked back over Chemical Science papers published over the past couple of years and has selected some outstanding articles that he would like to share.
