On the use of magnetic methods for studying the adsorption of H2, O2, CO, and hydrocarbons on supported palladium
Abstract
Chemisorption of H2, O2, CO, C2H2, C2H4, and C2H6 on Pd–SiO2 results in discontinuous variations in the paramagnetic susceptibility of Pd; these results indicate that magnetic methods already used with ferromagnetic catalysts may be extended in use to paramagnetic catalysts to estimate the number of metal atoms involved in chemisorption.
