Fused-seven-ring anthracene derivative with two sulfur bridges for high performance red organic light-emitting diodes

Abstract

A fused-seven-ring anthracene derivative with two sulfur bridges, benzobisthioxanthene (BTA), was synthesized, facilely. OLEDs employing BTA as the emitter exhibited bright (maximum 40 752 cd m−2) and efficient red emission (CIE, x = 0.64, y = 0.36) with a luminous efficiency of 4.4 cd A−1.
