Spectral tuning of the n-UV convertible oxynitride phosphor: orange color emitting realization via an energy transfer mechanism†
Abstract
Near-UV convertible Eu3+-activated orange oxynitride phosphors have been obtained via a Ce3+ → Tb3+ → Eu3+ energy transfer mechanism. The Tb3+ ions play the role of an energy transfer bridge to connect the Ce3+ and Eu3+ ion pairs, and an optimal concentration of the Tb3+ ion is necessary for maximum intensity of the Eu3+ ion emission.
