Synthesis and characterisation (by X-ray crystallography) of di-azido-and di-S-thiocyanato-di-µ-methylene-bis (pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) dirhodium and related molecules
Abstract
cis and trans-[(C5Me5Rh)2(µ-CH2)2(CH3)2] react with HCl to give trans-[(C5Me5Rh)2(µ-CH2)2Cl2] which gives trans-[(C5Me5Rh)2(µ-CH2)2X2] with NaX, trans-[(C5Me5Rh)2(µ-CH2)2Et2] with Et3Al, and cis-[(C5Me5Rh)2(µ-CH2)2(O2CMe)]+ with NaOAc; X-ray determinations of [(C5Me5Rh)2(µ-CH2)2X2](X = N3 and SCN) confirm the structures.
