Abstract

The acid catalysed rearrangement of [(η5-C5H5)Fe(CO)(PPh3)COCH(R)OCH 2Ph](R = H, D, Me) to [(η5-C5H5)Fe(CO)(PPh3)CH(R)CO2CH2Ph] occurs stereospecifically with inversion of configuration at carbon.
