Novel electrorheological properties of a metal–organic framework Cu3(BTC)2

Abstract

A metal–organic framework, Cu3(BTC)2, was synthesized and applied as an electro-responsive electrorheological material dispersed in insulating oil. Powder of crystalline Cu3(BTC)2 exhibited excellent chain-like structures and controllable rheological properties in an applied electric field.
