The first ionothermal synthesis of a germanium phosphate with one-dimensional chain-like structure

Abstract

A novel germanium phosphate with a chain-like framework constructed from GeO4N2 octahedra and PO4 tetrahedra, [NH4]2[Ge(NH3)2(PO4)2]·0.38H2O, was first synthesized via in situ decomposition of urea from ionic eutectic mixtures comprising urea and quaternary ammonium salts.
