Monomeric tri-coordinated bis(ferrocenyl)haloalumanes

The reactions of the bulky ferrocenyl lithium dimer (Fc*Li)2 (Fc* = 2,5-bis(3,5-di-tBu-C6H3)-1-ferrocenyl) with aluminum trihalides (AlCl3, AlBr3, and AlI3) to furnish the corresponding monomeric bis(ferrocenyl)haloalumanes are reported.

Amplifying Lewis acidity by oxidation: leveraging the redox-activity of bis(3,6-di-tert-butyl-catecholato)silane

Oxidation boosts the potential of bis(catecholato)silanes, transforming them into Lewis superacidic radical cations with remarkable catalytic activity in dimerization, hydrodeoxygenation, and carbonyl-olefin metathesis.

Unprecedented C–F bond cleavage in perfluoronaphthalene during cobaltocene reduction

The reduction of octafluoronapthalene by cobaltocene in preence of NHC led to a distinct Co(I) species with the cleavage of the C–F bond and the formation of Co–C bond.

A solvothermal reaction of In(NO3)3 and R-, S-pempH2 in isopropanol/water solvent results in compounds R-, S-[In2(pempH)22-OH)2(H2O)2](NO3)2 with a spiral microflower structure, which show enantioselective adsorption behaviour.

Ferroelectricity and piezoelectric energy harvesting of an A3M2X9-type 0D bromobismuthate hybrid with a bulky organic quaternary amine

A new halobismuthate(III) compound, [BPMBDMA]·[Bi2Br9], was synthesized and found to exhibit excellent ferroelectric polarization. Its polymer composite devices show piezoelectric energy harvesting application with high output performance values.

Manganese 2-phosphinophosphinine precatalysts for methanol/ethanol upgrading to isobutanol

Earth abundant manganese catalysts for the upgrading of ethanol/methanol to isobutanol are described. Mn phosphinine pre-catalysts were shown to undergo 1,2- and 1,4-addition with water and methanol to give phosphacyclohexadiene complexes.

Reducing hybrid ligand-based alane and chasing aluminium(I): dialane and unusual transient dialumene

The alane [DNIAlH2] (1) was reduced by Jones's Mg(I) and Roesky's Al(I) to give the dialane [{DNI(H)Al}2] (2). 1 with [DippBDIAl:] gives intramolecular C(sp2)–H bond-activated 3. [DNINa] with [(Cp*Al)4] gives C–N activated 5 with an Al2CN ring.
